Best Kept Secret Around Seoul: Water Garden 물의정원

One of the best places around Seoul we discovered last October that is still not that well-known among tourists is a huge cosmos flowers/reeds field called 물의정원 (i.e Water Garden)  located at Namyangju. Best thing is it is accessible by subway! So you don’t have to worry about getting there from Seoul.

Since flower fields are super popular with locals and tourists alike in Autumn, it is difficult to get nice instagrammable photos at most well-known locations like Haneul Park, Guri Hangang Park. But since Water Garden is super huge, you can easily find an empty spot to take some nice pictures without all the crowd in the background.

I visited the garden on a Saturday afternoon, which is the most peak visiting time of the entire season.

Most of all, entrance is free (as of end-2019) and I recommend even if you are just looking for a short peaceful walk right at the outskirts of Seoul. Perfect for another weekend getaway.

How to get there: Hop on Subway Gyeongui-jungang line, and get off at Ungilsan station. Walk 10 minutes from exit 1 along the main road.
